Every year, the Hispana Leadership Summit invites as speakers a group of women who are leaders in their respective fields. They exude confidence and motivation, and offer empowering advice through their stories of success.

Lorraine Ladish
Editor-in-Chief, Mamiverse

Lorraine C. Ladish is a 17-times published author of both fiction and non-fiction with over 20 years of experience as a freelance writer and editor. The subjects of her books include pregnancy, parenting, raising creative kids, writing and publishing and relationships. She thrives on social media, where she posts about her work, friends and kids.

She has contributed to People en Español, Redbook and La Palma of The Palm Beach Post, and was the managing editor of VOXXI Mujer. In June 2012 she was appointed Editor in Chief of Mamiverse.com, a digital hub for multicultural moms and their families, in both English and Spanish. A passionate communicator, Lorraine writes and speaks from a place of honesty, openness and empowerment.

She is based in Sarasota, Florida, with her blended family.

Giselle Blondet
Actress/TV Host

Giselle Blondet is one of the most well known TV personalities and actresses in the Hispanic market. She is the host of “Nuestra Belleza Latina”, the highest rated reality show on Univision. She’s also been seen as host on the red carpet for the most important Latin events including the “Latin Grammy Awards” and “Premio Lo Nuestro,” as well as “Historias Para Contar,” a 60-minute type show conducting the most exclusive interviews with the biggest celebrities in the Latin entertainment industry such as Juanes, Vicente Fernandez, and Thalia, among many others. Giselle was among the Latin celebrities invited to the White House to speak with congressmen and was the host of the Hispanic Heritage Awards in Washington D.C. She also starred in the highly acclaimed series “Mujeres Asesinas.”

Giselle began her career as an actress in her native Puerto Rico, to then become nationally known in the U.S. when she joined Univision’s morning show “Despierta America,” for which she was part of for eight years. She also wrote the inspirational book called “Con Los Pies en la Tierra”.

Giselle has done campaigns for brands such as Got Milk, Dove, K-Mart Pharmacy and Minute Maid and appeared on the cover of many magazines including Cosmopolitan, Vanidades, Harper’s Bazaar, Glamour, Buenhogar, Caras, Selecta, People en Español, among others. A dedicated humanitarian, she forms part of the celebrity cabinet of the American Red Cross, supports Operation Smile, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, NAAR, is the godmother of the San Jorge hospital in Puerto Rico, and has launched her own charity called Arte por la Paz, dedicated to regularly integrating and supporting art programs in schools.

Cecilia Ramírez Harris

Cecilia Ramírez Harris began her career in journalism in Caracas, Venezuela, where she graduated from La Universidad Católica Andrés Bello as a licensed journalist. In Venezuela she worked on several networks as a prime-time anchor person and had her own radio program in which she presented important issues that affected the community through news and interviews.

Throughout her career she has covered health topics that are important to the Latino community, such as AIDS, eating disorders, cancer treatments, diabetes care, diet drugs and cosmetic surgery, among others.

Cecilia writes and produces a weekly segment called "Nuestros Hijos", which is dedicated to children's health and social issues. She has written about health and medicine in print media, including Selecta and Siempre Mujer magazine. She was the host of her own television show, "Vida Total" on Galavision, presenting a holistic view of health related issues with interviews, stories and direct advice to her viewers. Most recently, she has continued her education, becoming a certified hypno-therapist, NLP Master Practitioner and a Life and Weight Loss Coach and studied Clinical Nutrition in the University of Miami.


Cristy Clavijo-Kish

Cristy is an entrepreneur and award-winning marketing, media and communications practitioner with more than 15 years experience and specialization in Hispanic and multicultural community initiatives. She is Founder and Co-Publisher of Los Tweens & Teens (www.LosTweens.com), a bilingual blog and community resource site launched in 2011 to engage multicultural parents raising kids between ages 7-16. In 2013 the site expanded to include My.LosTweens.com to engage tweens & teens themselves, together with their parents, to report on the topics, activities and communities important to them.

Cristy also is a founding partner of Hispanicize digital and Latina Mom Bloggers. She brings her expertise in entrepreneurship, marketing and business to help drive new services and support for bloggers and online media, while creating unique social media engagement programs for brands and organizations.


Elianne Ramos

Elianne is Principal and CEO of Speak Hispanic Marketing and the Vice-Chair of Marketing/PR and Spokesperson for Latinos in Social Media (LATISM). At LATISM, she is also Chief Editor of the LATISM blog, and the moderator to highly rated Google+ On Air broadcasts, Facebook promotions and Twitter chats with up to 20+ million impressions. Her specialty is the production of high quality social media ‘experiences’ that seamlessly merge online with offline efforts.

A Hispanic Communications Specialist with 17 years of experience in Creative Direction, Copywriting, Public Speaking, Public Relations and TV Commercial Production, Elianne has developed broadcast, multimedia and social media campaigns for clients such as Procter & Gamble, Panasonic, SlimFast, Chivas Regal, HSBC Bank and AARP, among other top brands. Formerly, she was the VP, Creative Director and founder of i3 Creative Group, managing TV commercial production teams working concurrently in the US, Mexico, Uruguay and Argentina. She also leads creative workshops and lectures at marketing conferences and universities throughout the US and Latin America.


Ivonne Fernandez
Associate State Director, AARP

Ivonne Fernandez is Associate State Director for AARP. Ivonne is responsible for advancing the multicultural work statewide in Florida.

She also hosts the daily "Café con Leche con AARP" radio shows and contribute to increase awareness of AARP within Hispanic community. She serves as Chair of AARP- Hispanic SEERG - ADELANTE. For her service in the community and her social impact work, Ivonne has been awarded with the AARP Maureen Mckoy, Hispanic Women of Distinction and the US Congress Special Certificate for Outstanding Service to the Community.

Ivonne graduated from the New Ventures in Leadership (NVL) from American Society on Aging. She has a Bachelor's Degree in microbiology and a Master's in Marketing. Ivonne serves at the Board of CNC as Corporate Advisor; she is a Member of the Board of Miami Dade Parks Foundation and Member of the Board at Zambrano Foundation, she is the President of Toastmaster Destino Leadership Club; is at the Board of Trustees of I AM Ministries International and the Chairwoman of Pathfinders of America Troop 712.

She is married to Reverend Andy Fernandez, mother of Oscar and Daniel and grandmother of Marianna.

Irene Zoppi

Commissioner for the State of Maryland

Dr. Irene Zoppi Rodríguez applies more than four decades of military, academic and professional experience to facilitate graduate courses in education and business and serve as associate campus dean at Strayer University’s Anne Arundel Campus in Maryland. A recipient of the Bronze Star Medal, Dr. Zoppi Rodríguez has more than 25 years of service in the military. A colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve, Dr. Zoppi Rodríguez is currently the commander for the 3100th Strategic Intelligence Group.

Originally from Canóvanas, Puerto Rico, Dr. Zoppi Rodríguez also serves on several professional boards, including her recent appointment by Maryland’s Governor Martin O’Malley to serve on the Maryland Workforce Corp.’s board of directors. Dr. Zoppi Rodríguez holds a bachelor’s degree in foreign languages from the Universidad de Puerto Rico in Río Piedras, Puerto Rico; an MBA from The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Md.; a Master of Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College in Carlisle, Pa.; and a Ph.D. from the University of Maryland in College Park. She is also enrolled in the National Defense University’s Advanced Joint Professional Military Education program in Norfolk, Va. Outside of the classroom, Dr. Zoppi Rodríguez spends time with her husband and their three children.

Kristina Puga, is a web producer for NBC Latino, where she specializes in telling the stories of inspirational Latinos all over the country. Every week, she profiles a Latina Leader - a woman, in any field, who is spearheading positive change in her community. A graduate of Barnard College and The Columbia Graduate School of Journalism, Kristina is the product of an Ecuadorian father and a Russian mother. Raised in culturally diverse Queens, NY, she has been covering the Latino community for about a decade for publications such as, the New York Daily News, AOL Latino, NYRemezcla.com, and Urban Latino magazine. She loves to travel and experience different foods and cultures while discovering interesting characters along the way and telling their stories.

Malule Gonzalez

Malule Gonzalez started her career in Puerto Rico as a journalist for the newspaper “El Nuevo Día.” She then moved into television as the producer of a local morning show and the afternoon news. Gonzalez was also a manager at the local Channel 24, the first Spanish news channel in Puerto Rico.

Later on Malule moved to Miami where she became the Promotions Director for Univision. She received her first Emmy Award in 1991 for producing “Campaña de Imagen”. She produced several news shows before going to Telemundo where she was a part of the ambitious project “CBS Telenoticias”, the first 24 hour Pan regional news channel.

Gonzalez also worked in Venevision International. She has created and produced popular shows and special programs like “Sevec”, “Descalzi, Principe de los Mendigos”, “Marta Susana” and “Quién tiene la Razón.”

In 2009 she moved back to Puerto Rico where she serves as the Vice President of Univision. Gonzalez is the winner of four Emmy Awards and one Premio Cuspide.

Mariela Dabbah

For the last twenty years Mariela has devoted her enormous energy to empowering young Latino students, women and professionals to succeed in the United States.

In this mission she has authored several award winning, best-selling books to help Latinos succeed. Her book Poder de Mujer: Descubre quién eres para crear el éxito a tu medida, published by Penguin in 2012, has been on the best selling lists on Amazon, Barnes and Noble and Nielsen and it has recently won four International Latino Book Awards including Best Business book. The English edition Find Your Inner Red Shoes came out in May 2013.

In 2012 Mariela created the Red Shoe Movement: Women Supporting Women for Career Success (www.RedShoeMovement.com) a company and a movement to increase female representation at executive levels across organizations. It offers onsite and offsite leadership development as well as action learning programs geared to female employees. To keep the conversation about women advancement in the workplace top of mind, the movement encourages women to wear red shoes.

With a Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies, Migdalia has over 14 years’ experience in research, corporate compliance and corporate housekeeping. She also has over 4 years’ experience in social media marketing.

Migdalia is deeply meshed in the blogging community and connected to a wide variety of bloggers.
